I'm looking for one business to buy and run myself—not as part of a portfolio, but as my full-time commitment. If you're a business owner starting to think about your options—or even if you're just curious—I'd love to talk.

A bit about me

I founded Palmetto & Pine out of a lifelong respect for the small and medium-sized businesses that sustain our country.  As the son of Vietnamese refugees, I grew up hearing stories of hard work and resilience—lessons that shaped my deep appreciation for the men and women who dedicate themselves to building something lasting for their employees, customers, and communities.

My career spans operating leadership roles, investing, and partnering with business owners to pursue long-term growth. From advising infrastructure firms and investing in private companies to expanding critical services for customers, the throughline of my work has been a commitment to creating economic opportunities.

I've worked across multiple industries including healthcare, energy, logistics, and technology, always focused on sustainable impact. Through Palmetto & Pine, I'm dedicated to helping business owners protect their legacy, invest in their people, and ensure a thoughtful transition.

I live in Matthews, North Carolina, with my wife and two kids. When I'm not working, you'll find me on the mats training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, cheering on the South Carolina Gamecocks and Washington Commanders, and trying to shave a few strokes off my golf game.

My partners

I'm fortunate to be backed by experienced business owners and investors who share a commitment to long-term growth and responsible stewardship. They bring decades of expertise in scaling businesses while preserving their unique culture and legacy.

Their support means I can offer not just capital, but decades of collective experience and a commitment to lasting success.

About the name

Our name reflects the places that shaped me and the kind of business I want to build.

Palmetto trees grow along the coasts from Florida to the Carolinas. They're resilient—they've survived hurricanes, salt air, and even cannonballs during the Revolutionary War. They may bend, but they don't break.

Pine trees stretch from the Blue Ridge Mountains down to Texas. They grow with deep roots and stand for generations.

To me, these trees represent the kind of business I'm looking for: one that's weathered challenges, built something enduring, and is ready to keep growing for years to come. It's also a nod to my parents' generation—people who planted roots in a new place and worked hard to create opportunities worth preserving.
